Freeze while gaming - No BSOD

Hello everyone, Im having some problems with 3 years old PC.
Only while playing games (Civ 5 - Heroes & Generals - Rise of nations) I suffer from freeze/crashes, PC doesn't show a BSOD, the mouse pointer works normally it doesn't freeze (until I try to alt+tab or alt+ctrl+del), and from my speakers I can hear looping sounds.
The only thing I can do is a hard reboot. I try reinstalling windows, and the problem still exists.

My BIOS, drivers* and OS are update, I perform a memtest for 6 hours and show no errors, I can run prime95 + kombustor and everything is fine, no temps problems, GPU never go over 68º and CPU at 58º, and no crashes.

DSIM commands show no errors neither.

*I tried latest NVIDIA drivers, and old ones, im actually using 334.89 version, and the problem persist.

Any help will be appreciate.

Cheers.

PD: Sorry for my english ;)

I am no expert but I am trying to help.

Any chance that you have upgraded your machine yourself ?(New RAM, CPU .. )

Hi, I built it myself, and the last upgrade I did it was the SSD a year ago, the rest of the components are 2-3 years old.

At first I thought that the problem was the PSU, but since I can stress the CPU+GPU without problems, prove me wrong.
Then my ram pass memtest (I know is not 100% reliable) so, im pretty much stuck right now.

You should first test your systems stability with provided app

Please allow it to run at least 10 loops,it will test your system, besides GPU performance.
Be prepared to handle with high (highest) CPU temps, this stress test is nothing like i have ever tried before,if any overheat protection (ex CoreTemps built-in feature) disable it.Read apps instructions first,i will not be held responsible, you have been warned.
If all goes well, download driver fusion, install application, delete NVidia drivers in safe mode,
reboot and make a clean installation of latest 337.88.That resolved same issues i had with my GTX 570.

I already stressed the system two times without any problems.
When I was on 337.88, it was in a fresh win8 install, but when I installed older drivers I did exactly what you say. So there is no problem with GPU drivers.

Your chipset drivers predates windows 8.1 please update to the latest version from here Motherboards - P8P67 - ASUS.
Also update your realtek lan-driver

With chipset you mean the IMEI? Because there isn't any chipset driver to download for win8.1 from asus web, the only ones are for win7.
If my chipset drivers are outdated where can I found the drivers?

Edit: actually I reformat twice tonight, first I go back to Win7, and no luck, still freeze at games. And now Im on W8.1 again, tested different ram and ssd, no luck.
So I guess my PSU or GPU is dying?

Thanks both of you :)
