Hello,

I just bought an Asus K Series laptop, processor being Intel Core i7-4500U, base speed 1.80 Ghz with turbo boost up to 3.0 Ghz. Its GPU is Geforce GT 740M. The RAM is 4gb.

So is this laptop suitable for gaming with smooth gameplay and performance, at least medium to high settings with nice FPS?

My main games are Counter-Strike Global Offensive, League of Legends and Dota 2. Maybe Resident Evil 6 and Saints Row IV too.

Hi,

Hardware mentioned seems to be impressive. Still if you want you can go to Can You RUN It | Can I run that game | Game system requirements and check if your system will be able to run the game smoothly or not. This site will run a small scan on your hardware and lets you know if the system is capable to run that specific game or not.

Thanks for the help and info, will try it later. The clock speed is the one that concerns me though as its base speed is 1.80 Ghz only. Will that be affecting my gaming experience?

Well, yes CPU clock speed can affect gaming. But, with 1.8 * 2 cores will be sufficient to play the games you mentioned. Saints Row might have some lags.

The clock speed will boost it self to around 3 GHz. Don't forget to change the power settings to performance to get the most out of your notebook.
