    PC Going Off While Gaming

Okay, this is the second time with a different game this is happening, at very specific points in the game, My Laptop's screen blacks out and goes off, the computer stays on with lights and stuff but the screen just stays off like when you put off a pc but the fans keep running, I then have to forcefully power my pc off to put off the entire system.

I don't think this has anything to do with my Laptop's temperature as I've just had the vents and heat sinks ventilated recently, also cause the laptop goes off at just one scene in a particular mission in both games, Assassins Creed and Far Cry 3.

I don't think its my PC's specs either cause I went through the requirements of these games before getting them. Please help me, I've not been able to go past the stages in the game where my PC goes off.

    My Laptop's specs:

    HP Envy M6-1105DX : AMD A10-4600M 2.3GHz, 6GB RAM, Windows 8, 64-bit.

We'll see what we can do.

Update the games to the latest patches, if they are not already in that state.

Then please see this thread, run the tool and post (in this thread) the results it gives, regardless of whether or not you've even had a bsod ever:

Thanks masterchief! i'm replying this with my desktop pc as I decided to do a chkdsk of my laptop's hard disk before I got your reply. I'll post my sf diagnostics tool results once its done and comes up, but its weird how its been on 27% for about 30 minutes now.

So sorry for taking so long to reply. A chkdsk of my pc took forever. I've attached bsod crash log files in a zipped file. Thanks!

No worries to me about time. It's not my machine waiting to hopefully be fixed.

Install this update for your Atheros wireless. Your old 2012 version was responsible for crashes:

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64255.exe

    Update AMD video driver:

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64322.exe

    Update Realtek wired lan driver:

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58501-59000/sp58543.exe

I don't like the date on this following driver at all, but do the above for now and I like the chances for you that it will all be ok with that:

    bthav bthav.sys Thu Jul 10 14:20:39 2008 (487652F7)

Thanks masterchief! Just mere curiosity, how does a wifi card update fix my pc's bsod bugs while gaming. I can understand my AMD drivers but not the part where I update my Qualcomm Atheros wifi drivers.

About the driver dates you said you didn't like, I think those are the drivers for my usb bluetooth adapter I've had with me for so long, they are the tiny generic ones, I no longer have the pack it came with so I really can't tell who manufactured it to go look for latest drivers on their website. But Windows displays it as "Microsoft Generic Bluetooth Radio" in Device Manager.

I'll do all you recommended anyways. xD

    You're welcome.

Device drivers are loaded into memory and can be thought of as "activated".

Any driver that is "activated" can affect the entire operation of a machine, and even in some instances, overlap other drivers that are behaving.

The easy way to say it is that any driver active, at any time, can cause a bsod if not written well, regardless of what activities are taking place on a machine.

There are ways to identify devices if necessary. Easiest way is in Device Manager. Right click, Properties, Details tab, change the dropdown to say "Hardware Ids" -

with that info, you can Google or look up vendor ids and/or device ids at this site:
