I had a pc with windows XP and would go to firstrowsports and had no problem streaming, even though the ads were annoying. With my new laptop, site says I need to install flash player. I've done that but it still doesn't work. I'm not that puter savy so any help anyone can give me would be very much appreciated. Thanks

You need to use the desktop IE, and you have to shut the F Off of "active x filtering" it's in the tools row.

I downloaded the window 8 update...went to tools....clicked on Active X and it still doesn't work...As said, I'm not too puter savy but with XP , it worked without having to do anything. I don't like Windows 8. Have any other suggestions....as in easy step by step....Thanks

Edit....most sites I've tried recommend Mozilla, which I go in on when going to these sites

One other reason could be IE 11 is blocking some Ads from the do not track feature. You could turn that off. Add as a safe site.

One thing to note is Flash player is integrated with IE so no need to update Flash.

Or you can use the legal way which is to stream from NHL

I can't afford GCL right now and is why I asked how to stream games. What you described to me...I have no idea how to do as I stated in my first post....I am not that puter savy and I can't figure out Windows 8 and I really don't like it at all....XP was much better and way easier but thanks for your reply

Here is way to add sites to IE 11 Compatibility view on Windows 8.1
Fix site display problems with Compatibility View - Microsoft Windows Help

I understand that Windows XP has good place in your mind but its just not going to be possible in the long run to use it. Well, it took me a week to adjust to Windows 8 but learning from looking at tutorials you quickly use Windows 8.1 like Windows XP.

Have you tried the built in Tutorials - Windows Help+Tips
Windows Help+Tips app for Windows in the Windows Store

Have you looked at this because it gives quick how-to
Getting around your PC - Microsoft Windows

Also you probably make it easier if you use Microsoft Account instead of local Account.

On the topic at Hand I went to firstrowus1.eu
Let me say - Wow it is dangerous site saying I need to update when I have latest IE11 on top of that popup to install iLivd which is adware spaming site then it asks something else to install which is probably maleware. So I would go for paying for GCL either by paying 9 payments of $18.99 or Flat payment of $169 per year instead of getting infected or worse your computer running slow.

I think it answers your basic question How do I stream NHL games? Go to http://nhl.com/gcl

You did not say how to I stream NHL games illegally for free which is probably not the point of this forum.

Thanks for your reply. I'll look into what you suggested but as said....I'm not too puter savy. There are other sites to go to for free streams but when I go to any of them....it won't stream at all and I'm not understanding why it won't stream... and that's the part I'm asking about or trying to find out about. Is there a way to get the free streams? As I said before, I'm out of work and I can't afford GCL

Hi there

On IE11 try also unchecking the Enhanced security mode. That often fixes "Recalcitrant Video streams" !!!.
Some sites also require the use of Silverlight (DRM Crud) so update that to the latest version too.

Here's a screenshot of IE11 streaming a Live Man Utd Football (Soccer) match from UK -- from OUTSIDE the UK. Wouldn't work until IE11 enhanced security turned off. (Man Utd actually playing in WHITE instead of the usual RED !!).

Cheers
jimbo
