Solsuite open OK for first week but now needs password

For the first week after installing Solsuite Solitaire on my new laptop the program opened up normally in our standard account. But now it needs an administrator password and I do not wish to have everyone playing Solsuite Solitaire having access to my administrator account.

About a week after getting the laptop I noticed that the default UAC is off on installation and set it up to the highest as recommended but since I do not play the game I am not sure there is a connection between the two.

Any ideas on how I can get Solsuite Solitaire to open normally without a password in a standard account. I have this same game on my Windows 7 desktop and it opens normally on it.

Did you try option 5, run as administrator in compatibility mode?

Not after I reinstalled the program in my Administrator profile.
I went through this again but as the blue box says it needs the administrator password to open in a standard profile and also goes through the similar small window to open in the Admin profile. Now this would be in Windows 8 only as Solsuite opens normally in windows 7 in all account profiles.

Can I assume that the reason this opened normally the first week or so without a password is because the UAC was off by default on installing the operating system?

That's the point, you enter the admin password in that window so that one program will always run as admin without asking for the password every time. I do believe if somebody goes in after you set it, all they see is **********, so no one can get your admin password.
I don't know what to tell you about UAC. I have seen some weird things happen when its turned off while your installing software.

Thanks again.
I will bring the laptop right in the computer room and go over everything again.
But not now, I have spent way too much time on the computer today.
Thanks again.

I went through it all again today with a fresh mind and all was set properly.
Nothing has changed, it still needs an administrator password to run.

Thanks for the effort. seven forums has a tutorial on setting up a shortcut that will bypass the password and is supposed to work in both win7 & 8 but after a failure to get it to work on my win7 desktop I will most likely just hope the Solsuite people have some ideas. It may be a Win 8 difference that showed up after I noticed the default UAC was off.

Thanks.
