Hi all,
and here's the story

I am wanting to build a gaming rig and have £2500-3000 to spend:geek:

About 3800-4600 Dollars (i think)

So obviously Motherboard, Cpu, Cooler and ram are Essential
In The UK, Novatech.co.uk is one of my favourite places to shop.

So i'm kinda asking what would you go for???

I prefer Intel myself when it comes to graphics
And is this motherboard any good to start:-ASUS RAMPAGE IV EXTREME Intel X79 (Socket 2011) Motherboard | 90-MIBHF1-G0EAY00Z

With that sort of money you'll have a great gaming rig. Just a few months back I built my first gaming rig for about £2400 using a GTX 780 and the games look stunning. Coming from being a console gamer I always thought people exaggerated when they said PC blows console's out the water in the looks department but it's true.

Thanks,

The GTX Titan looks good but pricey, i thought i might get 2 GTX 780's for about the same price as a Titan and use SLI??
Or is 1 GTX 780 enough??

Boy, that is a ton of money. I'd recommend spending 1/2 of that now and 1/2 of it about 2-3 years from now. Overall, in 5-6 years time you will be happy you went that way.

I can't speak for you but 1x GTX780 is enough for me. I decided to keep it simple for my first build and stick with 1x good card as I read you can have problems with multiple cards.

Good point, updates come pretty thick 'n' fast, no point spending all now and a year or 2 down the line need a complete overhaul

Thanks:)

I would buy the i7-3770k and the Z77 motherboard combo or the i7-4770k and the Z87 combo, whichever you get a better deal on. Get the all-in-one liquid cooler kit for the CPU and you'll be glad you did! I have the Intel DZ77GA-70k motherboard, but if I were to do it again, I'd try the ASUS Sabertooth motherboard... I'm not at all unhappy with the Intel board, though...

With that kind of money, I'd go big time! Try this:

Intel Core i3
Intel Integrated HD Graphics (4000)
4GB DDR3
320GB HDD
Windows Vista

Let me know how it pans out.

LMAO why Vista I think Windows ME would be a better fit LOL
