.net framework error logging off an playing game?

Hi all the error happens when i log off or play steam games, sometimes i can't see the one when i play a game as my game freezes and i'm unable to get to the windows 8 desktop. but the one when i log of it says this program which is .net framework is preventing windows from shutting down. is there a way to fix the .net frame work in windows 8. I have version 3.5 it came with my upgrade from windows 7 and i have the one that came with windows 8 version 4.5. I wish i could get the error message for you all but i cant unless you all know a trick that i don't.

I would advise you to uninstall the .NET frameworks and then reinstall it, but then someone would jump all over me and tell me that you can't uninstall it - you can only use the remove features feature of Windows Please forgive me if I didn't use the proper name for the remove features function!

I'd ask for this info also:
    Please do the following:
    - open Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc)
    - expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
    - right click on Administrative Events
    - select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
    - save the file as Admin.evtx
    - zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
    - upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).
And then when I go through the trouble of reading the errors in the log and figuring out the most likely problem - this same person will pass judgement on my suggestions. Luckily last time this happened this person was kind enough to agree with my suggestions .

Am I being a bit sarcastic? You betcha!
Thanks for putting up with it! :0)

Once you remove them, you reboot the system, then you recheck them in order to add them back in.
There are other tools available, but they are dangerous to use as they'll break other shared components and may render other .NET versions inoperable.

Other options would include a Refresh or Reset of Windows 8 - or even a clean install from the recovery disks.

From looking at the Admin Event Viewer log file, I'd have to wonder if there's a problem with the Steam files. My kids tell me that there's a way to refresh all of your Steam stuff (link here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...3134-TIAL-4638 )
There's also a lot of other suggestions at this Google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=refr...ient=firefox-a
