Recording while gaming

I run a triple monitor setup on windows 8 64bit. I was originally on windows 7 but decided to give 8 a try. What i typically do is run a game like world of warcraft on one monitor and then i am using camtasia on another monitor to record streaming video. In windows 7 this worked great because i could turn off aero which would allow my games to run in windowed fullscreen mode without as much having to be rendered in the background. In windows 8 there is apparently no way to turn those features off so i am stuck losing over half my fps when i run a game in windowed fullscreen while recording on the other monitor. I have tried every codec, recording software i could find and none of them work anywhere near as good as in windows 7. Is there any way to get similar results as i did in windows 7?

The only thing I can think of to try would be to go to your Control Panel > System > Advanced Settings. Choose Performance > Settings and under Visual Effects select "Adjust for best performance" and hit Apply.

Sadly i tried that it seems they want these trash resource hog features to be on no matter what. I do enjoy some of the new feature but looks like its hardly worth the downsides of losing half your fps when recording.
