Windows 8 came with 1 table and I was able to purchase all the other tables, that is until the Star Wars and Classic tables came out. When I try to buy them it says purchase cannot be completed at this time. How do I fix this? I contacted Zen studios and they said it is a known issue for Microsoft and they are working on it.

hmm... did you wait until you were fully signed in before attempting to purchase?

I only own the Star Wars tables so I don't know if the purchase method is any different. A lot of fun, especially if you have a vertical monitor.

I know that Pinball FX2 has a major flaw in that you need to be signed into your account before you can even play the tables! I hope in a future update, they remove this online-only requirement. None of the other games require you to be signed in just to play the game.

Here is what happens. I start Pinball FX2 and my profile loads and shows me all the tables I have purchased. The classic tables and Star Wars tables show as not purchased. I then click on a Star Wars table and I get the option to buy. When I try to buy it asks me for my Microsoft account and when i enter it and click confirm it usually says purchase cannot be completed at this time and then it it says table not localized. What does all this mean?

"table not localized"...

what region do you live in (or rather, what region did you choose for your Windows)? some apps can only be purchased in certain regions due to licensing and other issues. maybe there's a restriction for the Star Wars tables to where they can be purchased.

also, it could be the language you have enabled.

I assume you mean Eastern time zone in the U.S

I'm stumped.

did you try uninstalling it and redownloading it (including redownloading the tables)? and then trying to purchase the Star Wars tables?

I finally got a hold of Microsoft phone support and they tried remotely to fix the issue and even created a temporary account and they finally decided it was an issue on their end and would try to solve the issue. They said it should be fix within a couple of days.

Hey Dirty (or anyone else that may know...)

When I go to purchase the Star Wars table, it tells me it's $9.99, and requires "Full Version" of Pinball FX, sold separately"...

Does this mean that on top of buying Star Wars, there's an additional charge to purchase Pinball FX?

i'm currently using the free version, and the free table. I guess I'd spring for the Star Wars table, if it's $10. If it's more (because I need to purchase the "Full Version" of FX) then I'm not really sure I'd want to drop the cash, but I'd like to at least know how much it costs to buy the full version....

Thanks

no. the pinball fx2 platform is free. you download it and it comes with a free table called Mars (kind of terrible table). you then buy additional tables.

the term "purchase" is used differently than what most people think. a "purchase" in the Microsoft world is adding it to your account. so in order to download anything, you need to purchase it. so something that is free still has to be purchased. so when you go to download a demo, you're purchasing it.

now, once you purchase something, you own it indefinitely. you can erase and redownload whenever you feel like it because you already purchased it. so even if the software title is removed from the marketplace, you can always redownload it because it's in your purchase history. just go to your purchase history and redownload. even if it was removed from the windows store.
