Age of empire 3 on my windows 8

I need help. when i wanna install my aoe3 erroe 1628 pop out. i tried to find [FONT=Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]msiexec.exe or idriver.exe in the task manager under the process tab, i couldn't find either [/FONT]msiexec.exe or idriver.exe. [FONT=Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif] [/FONT]

More details, please? I remember getting a generic error when trying to install AOE 3 Warchiefs expansion (it had a number in it, maybe it was 1638) but I dont think it had anything to do with msiexec.exe.

i search the net for solution, they told me to look for msiexec.exe and idriver in task manager and end it, but i couldn't find it. another solution is to locate installshield under the program files and change the name to installshield1, same thing, i cant find any. ):

@ Bradenfoo I have the Steam version of AOE3, now I no longer get the error. But from what I've heard untold numbers of people have gotten your error and noone has ever found a real solution. If you're using a disc-based copy then put those discs away and get a torrent from the Net. If you still get the issue with a particular torrent then find another one. That's how I fixed it. Or just buy the Steam version.

yeah, buying from steam would be my last option. i just bought aoe3 disk like 4 days ago. thou it does not cost much, but still.
