far cry 3 not working, windows 8 pro

hie frndz, i hv installed windows 8 pro with media center on my pc,
today i installed far cry 3 game on my pc,bt whenever i start my game my monitor goes black n says out of range.
can u please tell me the problem ?

Far Cry 3 was working for me under Windows-8-Pro-WMC-x64. Which hardware do you use ?

First, do you have the Steam version, or the Uplay/retail version, or is it cracked? I have the Uplay version and it works fine for me. Make sure you've downloaded and applied the v1.04 patch. Not sure what might be going on with your monitor.

I am using Intel dh55pj motherboard ,ati Radeon 5770 graphics card

Hey there. Have you tried updating your graphics card drivers?
This error should not a be a Uplay or Win8 related issue.
To further assist you, do you get the message from the monitor or Windows?

Should run perfectly mate, I've been running it on my machine.

Only thing I can think of is updating your graphics drivers. Another thing, try running as administrator.

I dont think running as admin is necessary, it's not for me anyways (I always have admin access to my computers, but that's beside the point). Upgrading the graphics drivers and having the game patched to the latest version should be sufficient. All versions of FC3 use Uplay, even the Steam version, and Uplay will not let you play unless you're at the latest patch version, it's mandatory. If it still doesnt work then try making sure all your PC's drivers are up to date (chipset, mobo, audio, etc). And if that still doesnt work then maybe your PC just isnt sufficiently powerful to play the game.
