Hi All - I was under the impression that the Games App on my Windows 8 Pro desktop and on my Surface would work in a similar fashion to my windows 8 phone's game app. Whereas all games are located and tracked in the app. Unless I'm missing something the Games App in Windows 8 only tracks and catalogs Xbox games. I have to keep all other games pinned to the start screen. Please tell me I'm missing something! I can understand if I'm not downloading a game from the windows store that it wouldn't automatically be picked up by the games app but I really thought all "Metro Games" would.
friends: which is your xbox friends and windows friends
spotlight: which is both xbox and windows
game activity: which is also xbox only, I think
windows games store: which is your windows stuff. you can launch your windows games from this if it's already installed on your system. like I can launch jetpack joyride. I'm not sure if you can customize it or not which is a bummer.
Thanks for the response dirtyvu but for some reason "spotlight" doesn't show my windows games. I've downloaded about 5 windows games and none of them show up in the games app anywhere. I wish it would just list the games you have installed allowing you to pick the one you want to play.
yeah, this app needs more functionality for the windows side of things. honestly, I never use that app unless I need to check my friends on Xbox. I'll see if I can customize it. so far, the apps I have that matches that list will launch. But there are games I have that aren't on the spotlights tab so I need to launch them via the start screen.
