dirt 3 not installing?

Hi, Just got a new windows 8 laptop and dirt 3, but for some reason it won't install. Anybody know how to get around this problem please?

As for Dirt 3, not installing please do all updates. A lot of games depend on microsoft XNA, .NET framework and other services.
WHat method are you using to install Dirt 3? Is this a downloadable file, a CD, or something else. It may be a problem at the source

I don't enjoy or like to make those kinds of assumptions. My assumption as of now is that the source is corrupted and a reinstallation with a new copy/re downloadable copy should do the trick. It's the product/serial key that you really pay for.

It's a paid for new CD, someone said it might work if I downloaded GFWM, which I did, but that didn't help. What updates do you suggest I update? When I try to load the game and it says "please wait while windows configures dirt 3" the green bar gets about 1/5 across then stops?

I've got you covered, I installed DiRT 3 the other day! (Just to let you know, it's AMAZING!)

Anyway, Games for Windows Live would be good to install first, and also the .XNA Framework (trust me, it does help with certain game installers, no idea in how it does but oh well).

Also, try (in My Computer where it shows HDDs and disc drives), right click the DVD drive with the disc in, and select "explore". Then find the setup file, and right click, RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. It's a large game (11.6GB) and it took me about an hour to install. Just sit it out and wait if it does get working.

Stupidly, Codemasters made it say "Configuring DiRT 3", instead of "Installing DiRT 3". It's confusing I know. But when it says configuring, it means installing.
