How can I access msn games / zone.com through windows 8?

I just recently purchased a laptop with windows 8 for my father.
He's very much into the checkers game on zone.com, especially because he can play against human opponents.
Every time I've tried to access this application it says something is awry.
I've tried to turn of the pop up guards and changing the setting in the security.

I'm a bit of a novice at such things but I was wondering if there was a simple solution that I'm missing.
I have also tried to connect to Yahoo Games for the same reason and the same thing happened.

Any ideas?

I think you'll have to use desktop mode to access flash based content, switch to desktop mode and open up Internet explorer via that and see if it works.
