Black Ops 2 Unexpected Error

While playing the game randomly will minimize to the Unexpected Error screen.

I tried to Alt+Tab to get back to the error, as it tries to go back into the game automatically, but when I Alt+Tab, it just goes back to a black screen. Task Manager does the same thing, I can get it to show up for a second then a black screen. Alt+F4 won't do anything either.

Only things I found to work are either waiting about 15 minutes and the game reboots itself, or to physically restart the computer. The black screen prevents me from going through the Start Menu, but when I Ctrl+Alt+Delete, that initial screen stays up, but once I make a choice, the black screen takes over.

I have already verified all my drivers are up to date, and both my copy of the game and Windows are genuine.

CoD4:MW does the same thing, but it at least will exit after showing the error with no details.

Try updating the game to a more recent version if possible.

Steam won't let you play unless you are on the most up to date version.

*Edit* When this happened, it was after about 15 minutes of playing the game, last night I played for almost 3 hours with no issue, maybe it was just a fluke, will keep an eye on it.

Might be an issue with the game engine and Windows 8/DirectX 11.

Yeah, it's a new release so you can expect some stability patches along the way.

There has already been about 3 or 4 patches so far, but without a patch between my issue and it fixing itself, I am just going to chop it up as a fluke, as it hasn't happened since and I have logged over 20 hours playing since then.
