The Topic: What's good about Xbox?

I wanna know what you think guys. My personal opinion is Wii is better, and I'm pumped about the Wii U (New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo Land, New touch screen gamepad, Nintendo TV, Miiverse, etc.). But if you have any Xbox (I do too.), tell me what's good. My favorite game on the Xbox 360 Kinect is Fruit Ninja Kinect, and I like the Kinect's voice control. What is your favorite feature or game? What's good?

I have an Xbox360, PS3 and a Wii. I bought my Xbox360 as it was the earliest of these new generation consoles and at the time was what I bought. That was nearly 6 years ago. And I really like the controllers, they fit my hands well. I do not have Kinect. I don't intend to get it.

We bought a Wii for our kids (who are now 7 and 5, but were probably 4-2 when we bought it). My son, the 5 year old loves the Wii and plays all of the Mario games. Super Mario Bros, Mario Galaxy, and Mario Galaxy 2. Personally, as an adult gamer, I hate the Wii. The graphics are just horrible and the games are cartoonish.

I got the PS3 when Gran Turismo came out as I love the Gran Turismo simulator racing scene. The PS3 then because my BluRay player in my living room as well, so we use it for Media. My kids use the PS3 for Netflix. I've bought a couple of games for the PS3...but I dislike the small controllers compared to the 360 controllers that I never use the PS3 anymore for gaming.

Outside of gaming, which I predominately do on my 360...i use HBO GO on my 360 to watch movies and HBO series. There is no HBO Go app on the PS3 or the Wii.

I will likely buy a Wii - U for my 5 year old. The game quality is hugely improved and the ability to dump the game from the TV to the handheld controller so that the adults can use the TV is going to be worth the cost of the console right there.

Well for the Win8 integration with dragging movies tv or music to your tv from your comp with a one button click (once its all setup) is a reason right there.. not to mention xbox has way better graphics and better selection of games... don't get me wrong I like the wii also but mostly just for the Mario games not the controller. and WII U looks atrocious.... it will end the reign of Nintendo

Ahhh... The Windows 8 can do that? I know it does multitasking like you can watch TV and movies on one side of the screen... one reason I want it!

Mario is awesome. I am hoping the best for the Wii U, because, I know, Miiverse is most likely going to annoy the poop out of people and the tablet design looks bad.

    MARIO. ROCKS.

I've added a Rep. Point to you.

Thanks for your input. I've never had a PS3, so I don't know what it is about or anything. I heard more "adult" gaming is supported.

Let's say that the Wii and the Xbox are after the same goal. Entertaining everyone. Basically I think the Xbox is doing better at video than game. HBO and Netflix, nevertheless Hulu Plus, all have their great features.

Wii is doing better at games, but let's face it more people like Playstation games better and I really don't fight that. I think with the Wii U they are supporting everyone, and you brought up a good point with the Tablet being the TV.
    *Go Mario*

    Thanks for your input!

Yea, I know, the new Xbox integration on Win8 is cool, but it just came out- it might still work! Xbox to TV? Apple needs to do better than airplay. (Not to mention, AIRPLAY DOESN'T WORK HALF THE TIME.)

PC's smash any console for gaming. I won't turn this into a flame war but your average smartphone is faster than consoles by now, which are running 6yr old tech. Basically, they cannot render games natively at 1080p, instead upscale, and are heavily cut back in terms of textures, assets and shadows. As an example, Dishonored on consoles cannot render any shadows for rats, they simply are too old. Not to mention level design and checkpoints. For media they are also creaking badly with little to no support for a lot of containers and codecs. Then again, I am an enthusiast and your typical consumer wouldn't have a clue what I'm going on about.

    Agreed, Ivy.

A powerful desktop PC is the ONLY way to play games.

Anything else simply doesn't cut it.

    Never has.

    Never will.

Pcs are great for gaming. I do a little gaming there as well. But as we all know, pc gaming is far more expensive. Graphically pc.games are better, but then again I don't have to play a game at full 1080p to enjoy it.

Sure enough, the Xbox360 is showing its age. But it is also 6 years old. My pc from 6 years ago isn't faring very well with new games. And I have bought a newer computer since...but my point is that the console has held up reasonably well for its age.

There are a few things I actually like about having on a console. First and foremost, no concerns at all for system requirements. Next,.all online gamers are on a more even level with advantages not going to somebody who can dump 3500 into a stellar gaming rig. My 360 is in the living room, so while gaming I can spend time with my family while I am playing a game. Unfortunately, my pc is hidden away in the basement and I feel like a hermit when I shelter myself away from my wife and kids when I retreat to the basement to play diablo3 or bf3 (both of which I play on the pc). No regular upgrades to my hardware are necessary, unlike a pc where you buy a new video card every few years and then have to work out driver issues,.crashes, and some games which for whatever reason don't work ideally with your new video card.

And finally, I work as a systems admin for a living. I sit at a computer for 8 to 10 hours every single day. Sometimes I really just don't wanna sit in front of the computer any more. I just want the stress relief of popping in a video game and relaxing.

I choose to game on consoles as well as the pc. I love having both options available. It might not be for everyone, but it works for me.
