Windows 8 and netbook display brightness issue

I have Windows 8 64-bit (tried 32-bit too with same results) installed in my netbook (Samsung N145P) and everything is fine EXCEPT the brightness control, it's stuck at maximum and there is no way to lower it as the Windows 8 slider nor the keyboard controls do nothing.

I have installed Samsung utilities for it but still no avail, It does not have official Windows 8 support.

    Thanks for any help.

Have you tried changing the Power Plan to Balanced?

Yes, I've tried all Power plans but brightness is still stuck at maximum.

Disabling the video card and lowering brightness before W8 boots works but res stuck at 800x600 and is slow

Shame nobody over the entire internet seems to be interested to solve this, so return to W7 on the netbook , keeping W8 on my desktop as it works like a charm there.

Usually some netbooks/notebooks have specific drivers that needs to be installed for the brightness control to work.

I've installed the drivers and software from Samsung for my model (they are for W7 as it doesn't support W8 officially) and nothing... tried several video driver versions and nothing... tried 3 party programs and nothing... Tried the registry hack and nothing... it's because GMA 3150 is not fully supported by W8... and seems it won't be...

Anyway I have reverted to 7 on the netbook.
