Many manufacturers in this case, the driver has no windows 8. Windows 8 in the users had very little time to open. I wonder if the manufacturer, drivers will be brought in time?

No one cares about drivers unless it's for your Graphic Card. Sound, touchpad drivers are also significant, but not much.

if you're computer is working fine don't even bother with driver updates. If you're gamer just hunt for gpu drivers.

Some of us care! I make it a point to hunt up the latest drivers for all my hardware. Especially for my main components like Motherboard and Video card.

@ Optimus, Windows 8 drivers are slowly trickling out. Expect more as the final release date approaches. If your hardware is old the manufacturer may not release new Windows 8 drivers. Windows 7 drivers will work in most cases though.

Yeah I need drivers for ALL KINDS of stuff besides regular audio/video. Multiple printers, scanner, cameras (Video and still), audio production hardware, half dozen USB device programmers, GPS units, the list goes on and on (and on and on and on).

As typical, it's about 50/50 on launch day if there are drivers for device X. If there are no drivers for the latest OS it's about 50-50 that previous OS drivers will work (or install). The rest is about another 50-50 split if the manufacturer will update them for the new OS ever or instead "suggest" that you buy a new X instead. THOSE companies I tend to not ever do business with again <cough>HP<Cough>
