Computer getting black screen after installing new SSD.

I just recently bought a new 64gb SSD and installed it into my computer as the case manufacturer said in the instructions. I did everything as planned, then plugged my computer back in, to turn it on and get a black screen. No bios or anything. I tried plugging it into my alternate display to see if that was the issue, and it was not the issue. I later tried booting the computer without the SSD plugged in which yeilded the same result as before. I hope to get help soon so i can get my rig running and install my Windows 8 onto it.

*NOTE: if this post is in the incorrect section of the forums, i ask that a moderator move it to the section that is right.

Eh, I don't know what you did and it doesn't even really matter.

    Here's what to do.

    1) Power off.

    2) Remove SSD physically.

    3) Boot to Windows.

    4) Follow this:

    1. Exit all Windows-based programs.
    2. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
    3. If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
    4. Locate and then click one of the following registry subkeys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IastorV

    5. In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.
    6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
    7. On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.

    5) Power Off.

    6) Re-attach SSD.

    7) Boot to bios.

    8) Change the SATA mode to AHCI and save.

    9) Boot to Windows.

    10) Format the new SSD.

    11) Research for yourself the best care procedures for it.

I tried that earlier on, but cannot see my windows 7 screen. I have ruled out that it is my video card. I will be getting another to test it as i do not have onboard graphics.

You had to either unintentionally disconnect the internal power cable to the 8800 or moved the card so it is no longer seated well. Check on both.

Well, I know it's not the video card, and I got the same results with a EVGA 610 so this means it has to be the motherboard. The computer is 4 years old so it's time for a upgrade

So I was thinking of buying:
    -ASUS P8B75-M/CS5 LGA 1155 Motherboard
    -Intel Core i3 1155 3.1Ghz
    -G. SKILL Ripjaw series 16gb (2x8gb) 240 pin DDR3 SDRAM
    -EVGA GeForce 640 2gb

It usually happens on systems with more HDD's allready in. Have you checked all the connectors cables?

I saw this once. Had no idea how to fix. After a couple of consecutive resets the BIOS detected the ssd again. But then I removed all the HDD's and tested with the ssd only. It always worked... odd. After that I decided to rearrange the power cables and balance the load with as many free ports as possible. In electric terms: don't use the SSD with a HDD on the same tree of parallel connections (two power connectors that split up also split the current). HDD's need more current (usually around 2 amps) than a SSD but try the SSD alone also. When I put all the drives back in, I checked to see that no connector is stretched or stressed: this can cause partial deconnection or malfunction during run-time. So the shortest SSD cable goes in the nearest available port and so on.

The problem didn't happened again, so I guess the random cable deconnection or wrong current sharing was the cause here. I never upgraded the SSD's firmware and as it seems and there's no need for it now.

PS: the BIOS setting of AHCI MODE has to be set to IDE or COMPATIBLE if you use IDE drives, if you only have SATA drives, ignore this.

@Hopachi Tried, and didn't work. I need an upgrade anyways, and have 350 in savings to do so. I bought the i3 in june, so i already had to upgrade, was just waiting for the right time.
