Hello all. I was wondering if anyone found a way to map to a remote pc to install a printer. In windows 7 I know there was an add printer button available after mapping to a pc on the network. eg (\\pcname\). I have yet to find this in windows 8. If anyone has and can share how to do this it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi bxwindow,
To add Printer remotely in Windows 8, the solution is:
1. Control Panel > Admin Tools > Printer Management
2. Right Click "Print Server" or "Print Management" and select Add\Remove Server
3. Add the PC name that you want to add printer for and click "Add to List" button
a. You can add multiple machines all at one time and can manage as required for printers
b. Click Ok and the PC is added to the list
4. Right click the PC name from the list and select Add printer
5. rest is same as before.
Let me know how you make out.
Thanks,

P.S. I would create a shortcut on desktop and/or pin it to start and/or pin to taskbar, for next time!

Thanks. Now what if I need to provide the local admin pw. ( AS I have changed mine since It is testing and do not want anyone else accessing my pc.) How would I go about doing so?
