Jumping cursor

I have an Alienware m15x laptop with Win 8 Preview on it. Anywhere I type the cursor will jump to other parts of typing area, such as emails, and continue typing. This is highly annoying to stop every 1-2 words, correct the mistake, and reposition the cursor in the proper spot. Has anyone else experienced this? This would happen very rarely in all of there versions of Windows I have used over the year.

Hi there
This sometimes appears on laptops and is totally annoying -- making any sort of reliable input almost impossible. It's very difficult to explain this problem to those who've never had it but it almost renders a laptop totally useless.

What 99.9999% of the solution is in most cases is to DISABLE the touchpad of the laptop via either the touchpad driver of the hardware manufacturer itself or failing that is to use the "Generic" synaptics driver and then in the settings disable the touchpad.

Get it from here

Drivers | Synaptics

Note - if you disable the touchpad you will need of course an external mouse -- but I HATE touchpads anyway.

Ensure also your VIDEO driver is up to date and any chipset drivers for your laptop / motherboard have also been installed.
