HP Pavillion 17-G121WM No WiFi, Possibly Driver Related?

Hello everyone, I sent my friend an HDD from an Acer 572G-54L9 that still had the OS and all because we have no way of getting another on it as of right now. His HDD had died. He owns an HP Pavillion Notebook-17-G121WM.

I have absolutely no clues on what to do about the drivers.

At first, the PC just didn't work (seems like it wouldn't because the Acer had nVidia, the HP has AMD), but Windows Repair fixed that. I got rid of the Acer drivers and installed as many of the drivers for HP as I could for 8.1 instead of 10, but when it came down to the WiFi, we had been running into a very mysterious problem from the very start: his WiFi will not detect a single thing. It needs to be plugged in, otherwise it just says it has no detections of WiFi even though there is literally his phone and other networks right there. I downloaded the driver but it still doesn't work. I'm many miles away and unsure of what to do. Could any of you guys help me? I will do whatever I can. Thanks!
