Hi,

i have an initially installed 128gb SSD (C drive) with OS in it, along with a 1tb HDD which is in two partitions (D and E) .

Recently i added a 256gb SSD (unallocated space). Following is the screenshot of my disk management which will make it clear.

Now i read that AOMEI software can merge two partitions, so i downloaded and tried to do so, but following SS shows what happens

disk2.jpg

Basically , when i click on C drive and select merge partition , the drive (inside disk 2) which i want to merge with C doesn't show up in the list. But i can see disk1 and disk3.

This is the issue. Kindly help

Thanks in advance

In disk managment Right-click partition C and then choose “Extend Volume” button. Then, extend volume C by following Extend Volume Wizard.

You can merge adjacent partitions (on the same disk obviously).

You can merge an existing partition with adjacent or non adjacent unallocated space ( on the same disk).

Disk 2 does not show in the dropdown because there are no lettered partition on it. So it cannot be used as the partition to merge. For the same reason, the unallocated space on it cannot be merged.

Ok, so i made a lettered partition on the unallocated space, still it doesn't show up in the merge list as shown in screenshot below

Do you have an adjacent partition on Disk 2? No.

Do you have unallocated space adjacent or non adjacent to the partition on Disk 2? No.

Ok, but i am able to merge Disk1 and Disk3 via AOMEI

Like with what you said, that also shouldn't happen right?? since Disk1 and Disk3 are neither adjacent or unallocated plus not on same disk
