Brother 2270DW does not appear to be fully compatible with Windows 8 (even though it is listed as compatible). I tried installing it over a wired network connection and it did not work until I manually added it as a printer and configured it. I hope they release updated drivers soon.

I'm not a gamblin' man, but I'd bet that any new drivers will be available after Windows 8 is at General Availability (late October).

If Brother decides to support the RP (or RTM code, which they might get in August) before that, great.

i am running windows 8 consumer preview x32 and I was able to have the 2270DW configured via the TCPIP ports of the pc. The Printer is connected to the router and my laptop is wireless to the router. the software installers don't provided the proper setup for win8. Below is my short hand of the steps I took. if you want to look up how to connect to a printer via TCPIP, I type out something below:

1.control panel > add printer > don't search / manual setup > connection type: Local TCP/IP Port > 192.168.XX.XX / Port: 9100 > Name Printer > **Make sure you have the Windows 7 drivers unpacked and accessible** > Share Printer Yes/No? > Print Test Page> DONE!!!

Brothers Website will have the print drivers and just need to find out your TCP/IP address of your printer. Just press the GO button and hold it till all the lights light up and turn off and let go. it should print out a sheet with your IP address of the printer.

Need anymore help, post here or PM me.

The release version of Windows 8 has a driver for the printer. Seems to work.
