Error code 2753 when trying to load printer software

My HP 7300 printer died so I replaced it with an HP 8720. Before installing the 8720 software on the Pavilion laptop (running win 8.1 - 64 bit) I uninstalled the 7300 software. The laptop tries to install the new software but runs into error code 2753. I spent an hour on the phone with the HP Tech trying his bag of tricks but in the end he was only able to get the basic print driver installed. Since this is an All-In-One Printer (scan, fax, copy, print), all the features cannot be utilized from the laptop. The software easily installed on my desktop computer. I have searched the internet for a clue on how to proceed without having to use the disk recovery procedure. It is probably a register issue and maybe someone out there knows how to fix it. Any help is appreciated.

The error can be problems with temp files with the same name, registery still has old hp software in it run UnCleaner – The Unnecessary Files Cleaner Solution - Josh Cell Softwares then check temp folders make sure they are empty. right click on the install and run as admin. If that doesnt wor search the registery for hp keys make a system restore point then delete old keys

Tried deleting contents of temp files, i used CCleaner. I will try the other ideas however.
