    Ram problems

Hello, I am having problems with my computer (Lenovo b50-30 touch [laptop])
and i have decided to upgrade the ram to the maximum (8gb)
unfortunatley, upon powering up the machine, I see both power lights ON, and the screen is blank, with no beeps.
i have already figured out that it is not the ram slots, and that the maximum IS THE MAXIMUM.
    if it it changes anything:
ram slot one (stock ram) ramaxel 4gb 1600mhz (blue circuit board)
ram slot two (ram I'm talking about) PNY 4gb pc3- 10666 (green circuit board)
    motherboard blue circuit board.
    thanks!

Mixing RAM speeds (1600MHz and 1333MHz) might be your problem. What happens if you remove the old RAM and insert just the new RAM?

According the specs for your notebook, it does look like low-voltage RAM (DDR3L) is required. How did you ensure the new RAM was compatible before buying?

(Note that there are no color standards so blue and green really don't mean anything)

Also, a supertech used the phrase internal architecture to describe to me that the "innards" have to be exactly what the motherboard wants. Matching speed and voltage are just two considerations.

Putting the memory on its own in a slot does the same thing, I had a quick look at the specs on an Amazon sale, and it did say low voltage ram, so I think that's why, also on the package for the ram, it says "compatible with 1333 and 1600mhz.

Then the new RAM is either bad or not compatible with your board/computer. It is probably a compatibility issue.

I recommend you visit the Crucial Memory Advisor and either plug in your information or let them scan your computer and tell you what it supports. You don't have to buy from them, but if you do, they guarantee their suggestions will work. Most other RAM makers have similar wizards.

Well, I have figured out that the memory is not compatible, so I was going to get this module here.
    thanks!

And how do you know that module is compatible? Did the Crucial Memory Advisor suggest it?

There are many systems out there where the largest RAM module supported in each slot is 4GB.
