Copying files to drive throws "Disk is full"

I am trying to copy files onto a drive which is 279 GB free of 2.99 TB.

I am getting the error "Disk is full" when doing this.

I am not sure why as there is plenty of space available.

This happens with large and small files.

Here is a screenshot of the storage the drive has.

Any help will be much appreciated.

What is the exact error message?

If me, I would run Disk Cleanup on that drive, then from an elevated command prompt, enter: chkdsk m: /r and press return. The m is from your image above where it says that is drive m. You don't need the drive letter if you navigate to the drive first.

If prompted to run at next boot, follow the prompts to allow that, then reboot. The process could take several hours with such a large and full disk drive and appears to be hung up at times. Just leave it and let it run. It will eventually finish. Then see what happens.

Note too if trying to copy large files the system could be trying to temporarily store some data on another drive that is getting too full. So make sure all your drives have plenty of free space on them.
