Solved ASUS default recovery partition not working

Hey guys. I've read a lot from this site and the tutorials and solutions are amazing. so I have decided. somewhat, maybe you can help me. here's the scenario:

I have a windows tablet ,ASUS Vivotab M81C non-signature edition (Please google for the specs), upon downloading all the necessary updates, I upgraded it to windows 10, after the long upgrade I noticed that windows 10 removed my oem recovery partition. so I immediately reverted back to windows 8.1

When I checked my partitions, I see that it was restored and labeled "healthy" I thought everything is ok until I decided to reset the tablet (in windows 8.1 already). But then reset/refresh and even create recovery drive didn't work. the refresh/reset menu said "Couldn't find recovery environment" while Create Recovery Drive said "A required Partition is missing" Itried booting from an iso with same architecture and tried reset/refresh but nothing worked. So I decided to fresh install the OS using the ISO I found here :https://www.pcsteps.com/210-download-windows-8-1-isos-legally-free-microsoft/ and thankfully I hadn't encountered any activation issues with the ISO. I used Custom Install, deleted all partitions EXCEPT the default Recovery Partition and proceeded. Installed all the drivers and got the tablet working again.

I now decided to copy the recovery partition and it was successful though I still didn't delete the one in my HD. Now I want to restore my tablet back to its factory default using the recovery drive since I assumed it will be restored and will be like when I first turned it on, upon booting from the drive, everything worked fine until I tried reset, It then said that there's a problem in resetting the PC. I was annoyed since it is already a recovery drive.

So how can I restore my tablet like it was from the first day I booted it. The recovery partition (OEM Default) is still there and labeled as healthy still though the system doesn't recognize it as well as with the drive. I just want my tablet factory reset. Any help guys?

Although it says "healthy" that doesn't mean all the data is still there. Installing Win 10, even though you backed out could have corrupted the recovery partition or the boot record. For example, on a Dell with a recovery partition installing some other OS invalidates using the recovery partion to restore and in those cases a restore/reinstallation requires discs or USB drive to install OS then needed drivers.

But the oem recovery partition contents were copied to my external sd card under a folder in my external sd card. Also. When i did a clean install, i never touched the oem recovery partition. Deleted everything except that. When i was successful, i was able to copy the recovery partition but i cant use it as it says there is a problem in resetting the pc.. so how can i reset my tablet back to the first day.

You will have to contact ASUS about the recovery. Obviously not everything was restored or restored to the point the recovery can restore.

I did but they didn't give me friendly options. I cant afford to send my tablet to them as i already have a laptop under repair for casing issues. Can I have any alternatives?

Sorry, but my opinion is ASUS is the only one that can fully restore it to the original condition, given what has happened.

From your posts, you reverted because Win 10 deleted the recovery partition. Did everything work in Win 10? If it did, best to upgrade again to Win 10. However, if the machine is working OK in Win 8.1, whatever is missing may be able to be downloaded(?). If not you will have to decide if what is missing is worth the cost to send it to ASUS for restore.

What i know is that when i have a recovery drive inserted it needs the windows installation media too to get reset working but it doesn't use the factory image located in the recovery drive. I dont know if there's missing. Plus installed the asus backtracker but it always says recovery partition not found. I badly need to get reset to work again. As i dont want to pay that very costly repair that's more expensive than my tab itself
