Hi there!

I am new to the forums and hopefully I am posting this in the right area!

I have had difficulties downloading Windows 8 from a USB drive containing a copy of Windows 8 (x64) I copied from my main laptop. It gets to the load screen but then states a Load Drive Error. I have tried several solutions online but no luck.

PC: Acer Aspire E 15 / E5-521-48KN
CPU TYPE: AMD A4-6210 APU with AMD Radeon R3 Graphics

My guess from perusing the following forum by link: http://www.eightforums.com/installa...r-driver-missing-form-wndows-8-acer-aspi.html

Is that I need to download the proper drivers for the Windows 8 setup to be successful. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Thank you so kindly!

1. How are you creating the USB flash drive? Are you letting MS build it? Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help) Have you tried re-creating the USB install drive?

2. Are installing Win 8 or 8.1?? Though in either case i think the SATA drivers should be included  Can you set BIOS to operate in legacy IDE mode? If that works you can always switch it to AHCI after the install completes

3. Windows creates Setup log files that might help identify where the failure is occurring. Can you boot from a rescue CD or USB drive to look at the hard drive? I've never had occasion to look at Setup Logs before but see Windows Setup Log Files and Event Logs if any of the first 4 logs in exist. Zip any you find and attach to next post
