I have an ASUS T100TA tablet to which I have attached a Samsung SE-218 CD and DVD player.
When I attach it with a CD in it, the tablet recognizes the player and then drops it, and then recognizes it, and then drops it etc. etc. in an irregular pattern. Windows Media Player recognizes that there is media to play, but doesn't play it. Windows Explorer can see the files but when I switch the Samsung into AV mode and try and copy the music files onto the hard disc. for example, it says that the files are not in the indicated location.
The DVD player works fine on a Win 7 and a Win 8 laptop so it is either the tablet or Windows which is causing the problem.
The tablet only has one USB port, so I can't test if the port is the problem (but it seems to run other USB devices OK).
I have installed all the important Windows updates on the tablet. I tried rebooting with the drive attached.
Nothing works.
