External Harddrive not accessing data. Numerous errors.

I was given very helpful customer service by the dynex representative. I fixed the problem of the harddrive randomly disconnecting.

There are numerous errors relating to permissions as well as the files just not showing. When I first bought to enclosure everything worked perfectly fine.

Then the files stop loading and cut off randomly. They did not load on other computers either. I bought a duplicate and similar enclosure.

The errors arrise from editing the permissions. Before take ownership worked and not it says that the file can not be found yet the harddrive says the data is there.

Basically I am unable to set a new owner.
The drive says my files are there hundreds of GB were taken up. Yet when I highlight all the folders it says only 2gb is there. I do not have permissions for some of the folders and when I try to change ownerships or permissions it says file not found.
I tried using admin command prompt to get the files listed and takeown could not find G: yet I can enter the drive itself.
Everything worked perfectly a while ago and I just did not really need to access the drive at the time.

Some folders I can enter but no files are present. I think only a couple of folders have actual files.

Was EFS encryption done by a particular user account? [I'm fishing for a starting point.]

Unsure, it was an external harddrive with windows 7. Is there anyway to figure out if it was encrypted?
If it was than I did not do so. Unless harddrives are automatically.

I have no clue why it would work fine and then for the past over a year it did not work. I fixed the shutting off issue by taping the power supply.

I was on a rabbit trail, disregard my earlier EFS encryption question; probably does not apply here.

Okay now for some reason, none of the folders are showing. It is like someone busted in my PC and deleted the few files remaining on the harddrive or something right?
The harddrive itself says the data is there though before I click.

Nvm changed the hardrive and it shows the same slight data with permission issues.
