    Can't save a file on C:\

If I make a .txt file in Notepad and try to save it on the C:\ drive, I get a message:

"A required privilege is not held by the client"

    How can I fix this?

I am using a tablet from NextBookUSA with only 1 GB of RAM.
The OS is Windows 8.1 with Bing. (Whatever that means)
There are other problems, but I need to fix this first.

I initially presented this problem to their support, at Nextbookusa.com
but they could not help, saying:
"Microsoft would need to assist you, as that has to do with the operating system itself."

Open Notepad by right clicking on the Notepad icon and select Run as Administrator.

This should allow you to save the file to the C: drive..

Why do you want to save the file in the root folder? Save the file in one of the folders under your user folder C:\users\[your username].

So sick of the patronisation of recent Windows releases. I am currently on 8.1. I can't figure out what else I have to do, to save a config file to the root of C. It's an old application, and that's where the config needs to go. I am worried that the medicine is worse than the illness in this...
