Lexmark E120n printer: Rectangles instead of letters

Hi,

I've just installed the Release Preview x86_64 German on my Thinkpad X100e. At first glance, also the printer installation (network printer) worked fine. However, when I actually print some text (test page, document, whatever) the printer only prints rectangles of different size instead of letters. Images seem to work fine. I suspect that I have to install some additional printing fonts, but so far I could'n find anything on the web. Does somebody have the same problem? Do you happen to have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi,

maybe you have solved this allready- but I found the same issue when installing a new computer at home with Windows 8 Home Premium 64 bit. It found the printer (a Lexmark E120n on the home LAN) and everything went smooth with the install- except that text was corrupted on the printouts! Small black boxes instead of letters X-(

I visited Lexmarks homepage to find a driver for E120n under Windows 8- but they just referred to the operating systems own driver (which obviously does not work!)

Anyway- the solution to my problem was to install Lexmarks Universal Print Driver and use that to install my printer on the computer.
I found this software here:
Universal Print Driver - Download | Lexmark United States
