USB Keep Connecting and Reconnecting, how do i fix this???

I seriously cant use my machine the way I want to because of this issue, this has been going on since the Laptop came out the box, and I have verified this is not a DELL issue/ hardware issue. It is the issue with the power going out the USB to my device.

When I plug in my USB Stick that is 3.0 it works perfectly find, the second I plug up my iPhone it keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting, so I cant even use it with my laptop and it is annoying I have looked high and low and I see that it is a known issue with Windows 8.1 and none has addressed on how to fix this issue.

What I have done so far to resolve the issue.

1. Device Manager USB Hub, Power Management and uncheck (Didn't work)
2. Tried a different apple cord didn't work
3. tried plugging up my Nexus and Galaxy devices to the computer, got the same issue.

I really don't know what to do and really need help in getting this issue resolved.

Have you already installed iTunes? Checked for iTunes updates? iTunes comes with drivers for Apple devices

Yes I have, I have most up to date iTunes software and the issue still exist

Hi there,


Such a problem is often caused by the USB3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver. Look for the latest available driver for your motherboard and make sure you uninstall the old driver first. Hope that helps.
