Looking for micro-SD to USB

Hi, I have a Surface and only a single USB but I'd like to use a USB thumb drive in the micro SD card slot for making backups to. Backing up to the micro-SD is abysmally slow even using Sandisk Extreme as it gets throttled as the card heats up. I found this for micro-SD to full-SD but nothing so far for a USB drive on the other end. Amazon.com: B00KZIBLWS Anyone seen what I am looking for? Thanks

Not sure there is such an adapter. It appears the best you can do is go from micro to standard SD.

I got 2 of the adapters from Dell to go with my Dell Venue 8 Tablet. One thing to watch for is the designation of OTG/On The Go. Plain adapters may be work with the tablet, are more or less simple extensions. I even got a couple of 16GB Thumb drives that have a standard USB plug on one end and the MicroB plug on the other end, not a bad way to use 'sneakernet'. BestBuy had one make by PNY.

I should have pointed out that the MicroSD is a card for storage used on many tablets and cellphones. Mine came with an adapter that works as a regular SD card and plugs into an SD slot. The MicroB USB plugs into the same port as the power cord.

Sounds like cloud backup will be your best way to go, or local back up to networked hard drive through your wi-fi?
