So, yesterday I was listening music on my laptop with earphones. I accidentally unplugged the earphones, so I tried to plug them. Because my room light was off(it was pass midnight) i couldnt hit the earphones jack, so i hit the usb jack. Suddenly the laptop just shutted down and i cant turn it on again. Laptop was on acdc, battery was full, so the battery is no problem... The weather outside was ok, no lightening etc...the other electric devices in house are working fine..
Earphones- regular sony smartphpne eatphones, laptop-asus r510c

Could it be that i somehow made a short circuit? Did anyone had problem like this and how big is the damage?? I just dont wont to spend again 400€ on laptop...pls help :)

Sounds like you could have shorted out the 5VDC supply and/or the USB signal buss. Either way it doesn't sound good. :(

EDIT: Can try pulling power and the battery, let it sit for awhile. Re-install the battery, plug in and see what happens.
