Hello Everyone,
I have a Dell Inspiron 13 Touchscreen laptop running W8.1, and an Acer touchscreen monitor. The laptop is a new replacement for my old computer which I was using the Touchscreen on.
I have two possible set-ups that I would like to try, but neither of them seem to work. I am unsure if I am doing something wrong or if these set-ups are unsupported.
Set up 1 -
Ideally I would like to be able to use the external touchscreen monitor as a second monitor with an extended display while at the same time using the laptops screen as the primary monitor. However I would like to have touchscreens enabled on both of the screens. I think this would be a very awesome set-up for what I am doing, but I cannot seem to get it to work. When I try the secondary monitors touch functions do not work.
Set up 2 -
If Set up 1 does not work I would like to be able to use the external display as a primary monitor with the laptop lid closed. This would be nice because the external monitor is much larger than the laptops screen. However, I would like to be able to use the touchscreen functions when the computer is set up this way.
With both set-ups the same thing occurs, the Acer touchscreen does not work with touchscreen functions. On any other computer, they work great! It is only with the touchscreen laptop that I cannot use the touchscreen functions on the external monitor.
If anyone has any experience setting up something like this, or if it is known that you cannot pull this off please let me know! Thank you in advance for any help, I do appreciate it!
