Asus smart gesture-->Synaptics, is it possible?

So I got this new computer and I was wondering if there's any way I can switch to get rid of this drive because it's terrible:-:, and if I can't how can I make it more responsive because it always kinda is two steps back from where it should be, pretty slow.
Thanks for your help!

p.s. step by steps wouldn't hurt x3

OS WET? What does that mean? You didn't list any system specs for your laptop or really explain what it is you want to do? Not that I can understand anyway. Is this an ASUS laptop? You want to upgrade the hard drive? Get an SSD if you want more speed.

ASUS seem to use their own Touchpad and drivers, no idea whether it is just badge engineered version. The driver takes vast resources for such a device around 10-20x as much as a Synaptics Touchpad.
A Synaptics driver won't work unless they have badge engineered a Synaptics one and supplied rubbish drivers.

What's a "badge" engineered driver? The Smart Gesture is a utility, not a driver. The touch pad will work without the Smart Gesture Utility. You can point and click. You just can't scroll etc.

A gesture utility could not function to any level of practicality for a touchpad without at least some help from a driver.

Poking around inside the installation file for Smart Gesture leads me to believe they use a customized driver.

Reading up a bit on ASUS's support site they answer this question:
Q said:
Smart Gesture - How to disable the function?

Like this:
A said:
You can not disable ASUS Smart Gesture, but you can make it feel like disabled through setting.
Method 1. Set nothing to default (Do not check any gesture)

<Image of no boxes checked in settings utility>

Method 2. Disable touchpad (Press Fn+F9)

<Image of key locations just in case you lost them>
Note: This action not only disable ASUS Smart Gesture but also touchpad's basic function.

One of the next questions in their FAQ is:
Q said:
Smart Gesture - After installing ASUS Smart Gesture, why the ELAN touchpad driver and ASUS Virtual Touch disappeared?

The answer is pointless, but this makes a solution very clear. Instead of installing Smart Gesture drivers, install generic ELAN drivers.

Here's a link to the non-'Smart Gesture' drivers. ELAN TouchPad Drivers - ASUS

On an unrelated note, does anybody else find ASUS's use of the English language a bit adorable?
I mean how could anyone hate on this.

My ASUS laptops touchpad works with the default Windows 8.1 drivers. I can move the cursor, right and left click etc. I don't have to install any driver, Windows does it for me. The only thing I don't have is any scroll function. The touchpad does not have a dedicated scroll section on it. The only way to get a scroll function on my touch pad is with the Smart gesture utility. That's the only reason I use it. The other gestures are nice, but I could get by without them. Some of them I turn off. I haven't noticed any speed penalty. My touch pad works when I touch it, no delay.
