Hey guys! I am currently on vacation and I don't have my home desktop with me so I am stuck using my old laptop. (model: HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Entertainment Notebook PC)
I haven't used this thing in several months and now that I am trying to use it to empty my SD cards from my camera onto the computer. When I put the SD card into the slot on my laptop it is not recognizing the cards... I have two different ones that I am using that are working perfectly fine in my camera. I tried them in the hotel computer and it recognized them so I know it's not the cards... I have also used these types of cards in this laptop before I built my own rig.

If they are working fine while in the Camera, just go that route until you get home. Also remember that public computers can be infected with malware. It is not something you want to get into a habit about.
There are USB adapters, that you can pull off of several cards if you want. They run around $20.

I already tried cleaning out the slot... And, the card is not showing up in disk management... I really need to take the pictures off so I can take more pictures tomorrow - both of my cards are full. I suppose if I can't figure out something tonight I can go buy one of the adapters.
