Solved Printer Not Working

About 2 weeks ago I started getting an alert from SupportAssist (I run Windows 8.1 on a Dell Inspiron 2350 computer) stating that "Driver Not Installed On: Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series B xHCI HC - 8C31." When I click on "install" I get the following message:
"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

However, I'm unable to update the driver. I get the following message:
Driver Provider: Unknown
Driver date : Unavailable
Driver Version : Not available
Digital signer : Not Digitally Signed

The only problem this is causing is to my printer - I am unable to print. I get the following message:
"The printer is offline.
Check that the printer cable is connected and the printer power is on."

I have scoured the internet looking for a possible download to fix this problem, but can't find anything.

As I stated, this problem just started about 2 weeks ago - up until then my printer worked fine. I have no idea what caused this problem.

Would greatly appreciate any advice on how to get my printer working again.

Tks in advance for any input - jcm

You can get those drivers from Intel's website. However, they shouldn't have anything to do with a printer, unless you are also missing USB port drivers, which may also be from Intel. Check device manager and see what drivers you are missing, if any.

I already tried Intel's website, but can't find any drivers that I might need. Had them scan my system, and they couldn't find any either. Tks for response, though - jcm

I generally would ignore any type of software that is supposed to tell you if you need drivers or not. Does Device Manager show any missing drivers?

Device Manager says I have one device without a device driver (the one I mentioned in my first post), Initially, Device Manager said that I was missing the driver for USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller. But, I inadvertently uninstalled it, and then the device without a device driver was changed to Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series B xHCI HC - 8C31. Device Manager is saying that I am only missing the one device driver now. I am completely baffled, as the printer was working perfectly up to a couple of weeks ago. I don't know of anything I could have done to my computer (no new programs installed) to have affected the settings. I appreciate your assistance. jcm

Because the big factory builder typically brand their components, in effect, making them somewhat proprietary, I recommend you get your drivers from the computer maker, not the device maker. So have you checked the Dell site for drivers.

I would also totally uninstall the printer, for now.

I note too that AiO has both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. If this is happening with 3.0, try 2.0 or vice versa.

Have you run Dell's Diagnostics: Product Support | Dell US

Earlier today I decided to do a system restore - had wasted enough time trying to find out what the problem was. Printer now working. My thanks to those who responded. jcm
