I have applied thermal paste several times, recently applied shin-etsu thermal compound. I have checked the fan. Its dust free and is functioning properly. Tested the temperature with various softwares, such as HWInfo64, HWmonitor and GPU-Z. The temperature reaches ~95C while playing games. No FPS drops, I get very good FPS with games such as assassins creed unity, GTA V, Bioshock infinite. The surface above the touchpad doesn't feel too hot, but the surface just above the fan(near the side of keyboard) feels hot. Never experienced BSOD while playing games. Sometimes the temperature reach 98C but the laptop never shuts down. Room temperature is 38C right now.
I have all the drivers installed up to date. My CPU consumes no more than 50-60% while playing games. With GPU-Z, I can see that the nvidia gpu doesn't get overheat. It stays ~78C while playing games, but when I click on the intel gpu 4600, it shows about 93+ celcius.
I use nvidia gpu for games(Checked it with nvidia control panel), and intel gpu for other things. Its set in the nvidia control panel.
Today I performed another test using prime95. Ran it for about 1 hour with no issues.
I think the fan is not blowing at a high speed while playing games. Today, while using prime95, the fan was blowing at a high speed. I don't get this amount of speed while running games.
Edit- When the laptop is in idle state, and the charger is not plugged in, the temperature is around 48-50C(intel gpu core clock speed 600MHZ). when i plug in the adapter, the temperature is ~60C(1200MHZ).
Note that my laptop has turboboost(2.5GHZ to 3.5GHZ). When I plug in the adapter, it goes up to 3.2 GHZ from 2.4 GHZ
Please ignore my bad english. Thank you.
