I'd upgrade the memory. But it will work.

Well,

Graphics is a bit on the low side.
I'm guessing 256mb is still good.

It should work good enough for the daily basic desktop tasks (no heavy gaming please).

So if you ask me, yous system is still supported, no problem.
If you do an upgrade of the OS: minimum 1024mb ram is required.
But a fresh install can go with a minimum of 512mb ram (a bit low but installs well).

Hi there
Photoshop will be fine -- but if you are editing large pictures with a few layers then you'll need to up the memory to 4GB -- you really will need to use a decent external monitor as well otherwise color calibration will be off.

I'd suggest for this type of system also getting an SSD -- for mainly photo editing you don't need a lot of (if any at all) 3-D graphics etc -- your graphics card is probably sufficient so long as you can display your pics in sufficient detail on an external monitor.

An SSD will make a HUGE difference in speed even on very modest netbooks. I'm using one very successfully on an acer aspire 1 netbook --hardly the biggest performer around but plugged via HDMI into a decent lcd monitor photohop works fine. -- Did put a 4GB module in the memory slot too.

I don't think anybody who hasn't tried one realize just how much better performance you get with an SSD -- these have probably saved many an old laptop from a one way trip to "The Tip".

Cheers
