I am not familiar with Windows 8 but an elderly friend is struggling with his computer and we hoped to be able to find the answer to his problems. With our windows 7 computer we insert an SD card and a box comes up asking whether we want to import the pictures or videos. We click on import and the pictures are saved to the C drive in a folder titled with the current date and the folder opens up. We then work our way through the contents of the folder deleting the poor photos.
We have tried all the "Autoplay" options on his Windows 8 computer but when we put an SD card in his computer it either plays the pictures from the card or does not but none of the options give the option of saving the files from the SD card to a folder on the computer and open the folder so you can view the new files.
I am sure Windows 8 cannot have lost this basic facility from windows 7. So please could someone tell me how to set up his computer like ours.
