Hey all, I just built a system with the asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0 and the amd fx 8350, 32gb ram with windows 8.1 and it came with the latest bios. My problem is since I built it last week ever 1-3 minutes the beep beep noise of a usb device disconnects and reconnects right away. In the device manager I can see that one of the generic usb hubs disappears and reappears. I started by disconnecting all the usb stuff hooked to the back of the computer and still did it.
Unplugged both usb header leads on the board and still did it. So last night I unplugged the 20 pin usb 3 header on the board and it stopped. I have a raidmax 3.5 usb hub plugged in there. I could find nothing in the device manager about usb 3 controllers but I did download the latest usb 3 drivers off of asus website but still did it. On raidmax website it states that the hub I have does not need and drivers. Soooo I have at the end of the road of what I think it could be. Does anyone have a clue what could be causing it to disconnect and reconnect every few minutes. Thanks and Please HELP!!!!!

ps, just signed up and alot of good info on this forum. thanks I read through about 20 pages of a search for usb 3 with not end result...

IF you have raidmax connected to the port that keeps disconnecting it could be the raidmax going in and out. Try it without the raidmax connected and let it run see if it still happens.
If it does it could be ports physical connection (bad wiring on it ) it sounds like you are describing the usb ports on the front off your case. Is this right?
If that is the case make sure the usb connectors are properly seated on the motherboard.

yes it is in one of the 3.5 drive spots in the front and has one 20 pin connector that connects to the mother board. If I unhook it from the motherboard the dinging goes away. Food for thought, I was looking at other brands and I noticed that this one Bytecc UH-430 4-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Internal 3.5" Bay Hub UH-430 - Micro Center has in the description "Internal USB 3.0 Interface; 4-pin Molex Power Connector" The Raidmax only has the one usb3 cable and no led light.... soooooo I wonder if due to its not getting a power supply it might be doing it? any thoughts?
