Hi.
I have a Windows 8 PCs and I don't want users to copy data from them so I have disabled pen drive access but users are always trying to enable them and install wonky softwares which do nothing but cause harm to my PCs.

Is there any ways I can be alerted when someone connects a pen drive to one of these PCs?

And yes, all those PCs are in network.

No there is not a way to tell an admin if someone connects something to the USB port. That is because every time someone logs in, or reboots a workstation, the Keyboard & mice would cause multiple log entries.

Really the only way to disable a user from being limited in what they are doing, is to use a Domain and Group Policies.
