Hovering acts like a left mouse click?

I have a new Windows 8.1 laptop and I noticed that sometimes, while using its touchpad just hovering can act as if I had left mouse clicked. Is this a new feature in 8.1 or just a setting I need to change?

    Hello CuriousOne,

Sometimes it doesn't take much of a tap on the touchpad for it to be considered a "tap to click" when the sensitivity is set to high.

As a test, turn off "tap to click" or adjust tap sensitivity for your touchpad to see if that may help.

Maybe that's it. I'll work on it.
