No new updates for hp 620; still the same old drivers for win 7. Installed but no sound.

    Yes

You have to search for: SUBSYS_103C1526

You did well. That means no specific drivers were found.

What pc do you have? x64 or x86? I'll have a look on HP-site.
    Is that a notebook?

You'll HAVE to use the Win7 driver:
HP 620 Notebook PC*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center
    version: 6.10.6300.0
Then open and extract the contents of the exe you downloaded with 7-Zip. Manually install from Device Manager.
This is in case the installer fails or is incompatible (problems) with Win8.

    This is what you need:

Extract all that stuff to a folder, let's say on the desktop and go to Device Manager and do a "update driver" in the sound section:
Browse to this folder and install driver.

Even on Win8, it should detect and use a Vista or Win7 driver pretty well.

    Good Luck
    Nothing more to add here.

Didn't work either; I guess hardware issues.
No sound, videos playing in slow-motion.

I've simply gone back to win7 --- everything is working fine

    Thanks for your attention.

Too bad it didn't worked. Some pc models are luckier than others I guess.
If MS and HP didn't provided any newer drivers, then yes, use Win7.

Try this. The only difference from the method, described there, is that GlobalSettings could be under the one of 000x keys. I had 0005. After set of EnableDynamicDevices to 0 I've got two High Defintion Audio Devices (headphones and built-in speakers). But sound works now properly without disappearing...

P.s: I mentioned standard Windows 8 drivers for IDT sound, not Windows 7.
