Hi,

I have ASUS N751JK (Win 8.1) and I'm trying to connect Philips SHB7150FB to it via Bluetooth and it doesn't work.

Latest drivers from ASUS installed, headset is charged and on (blue light is flashing).

PC can not find any Bluetooth devices around, so I blame PC, probably hardware/drivers?

(or I'm an idiot and missing something obvious)

Any help is appreciated

Welcome to the forum!

Which Bluetooth module do you have? The Asus site shows 5 different drivers:

The first one I guess?
I don't know how to check it, the network adapter drivers also come from Qualcomm Atheros and I don't have any problems with those.

You guess?

Which ones did you install? With Bluetooth it is possible to install the wrong drivers and have it appear to be working but some features not to work properly. As an example the generic Broadcomm drivers will install on almost all machines but may or may not work properly.

If you are sure it is the Atheros Bluetooth, then download and re-install those drivers. I would uninstall everything under Bluetooth in Device Manager and reboot first.

Those are the drivers I installed. There are also two Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator drivers listed there, appearing and disappearing, I don't know what it depends on.

As to me guessing about it, as I said before, I don't know how to find out which manufacturer's chip I have, except physically looking for a chip on the motherboard.

Are there any programs that can check it?

Go to Device Manager and open the properties of you Bluetooth adapter, then click on details and get the hardware ID. Copy the ID then do a paste and search in your browser. The results should show you what adapter you have.

If the Qualcomm/Atheros, then download the latest drivers from the Asus site and re-install as I said above.

USB\VID_13D3&PID_3402&REV_0001 which is Qualcomm/Atheros

As I said before, I already installed the latest drivers from Asus, there is nothing to re-install, because there was no (other) driver there before.
