so ive got a xbox controller and i made the usb cable myself but when i pugin the usb cable the pc turns off and when i dont have it in the pc works fine.. :shock:

Sounds like a short or overload,check your wiring.
You can test for overload by plugging the controller into a usb charger with an led, see if the led dims or goes out, but unplug it quickly if it does...
