Screen brightness problem

On my Windows 8 tablet(Acer Iconia W700) the sceen brightness was very bright/very sharp at 50(half way) and it was good.

But ever since i press that "restore plan defaults" in the power options and after the sceen brightness is not as bright/sharp and now i have to have 100(full) to be the same brightness/sharpness as 50(halfway) before and it is really affecting the battery life and only getting 2 hours on a whole charge and it is very slow/sluggish now.

So how do i get the sceen brightness back to normal and get the performance back to normal?

Are the other drivers up to date? Are you able to update the driver through Device Manager and let it search online?

Maybe someone else who has that tablet or is more familiar with it will chime in.

Above that button "Restore plan defaults" is a drop down list so just go and expand the Display section and set the options to what you want and then Apply > OK, and Save Changes.

You may also have to go into the Intel > Graphics Properties... > Power > On battery > Display Power Saving technology > tick Off. Then Apply Save Profile etc.

I don't know whether you have the Windows desktop on a Tablet, but if you do then Right Click on the Desktop > Intel Graphics Properties... > and so on.

Alternative ways of getting to that Intel Control Panel:
Control Panel(the Windows one) > Intel(R) HD Graphics > and so on

Or via the Charms Bar:
Charms Bar on right > Settings > Control Panel(the Windows one) > Intel(R) HD Graphics > and so on

All those ways work on a Laptop/Desktop, not sure what is available on a tablet. But obviously search around.

If it's going dimmer on it's own whilst working then that is usually the adaptive brightness kicking in, as I say this setting is in two places, no idea which takes precedence. That fooled me for sometime on this Laptop.

Sceen brightness is fixed and gone back to normal but the performance is still slow and sluggish becuase when i load a program or put the keyboard up, open a new tab in a browser is takes soo long to load... :(

And when i boot up my Acer Iconia W700 there is a mouse cursor and i don't know why because i never had that before.

And sometimes in Firefox the search bar i always have set it to Google but sometimes it goes to set to Yahoo in the search bar every couple days.

Can someone help me please?
